Saturday Drumming Classes

Stimulate your senses, connect with your community and energize your spirit at our weekly drumming classes. We’re currently offering three styles of drumming:

  • Guinea Style Drumming — 11am 

  • Afro-Cuban Drumming — 2pm 

  • Beginning Djembe Drumming — 4pm

Feel the positive effects of drumming for yourself at one (or all) of these all-age classes, led by storyteller, artist, musician and historian Onochie Chukwurah.

The class fee ranges from $12 to $20. Drums are provided or your can bring your own.

African Language Class

Learn the basics of the Igbo and Yoruba Nigerian languages. Igbo & Yoruba are two of the four official languages of Nigeria. Igbo is spoken by about 18 million people in Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea; Yoruba is spoken by about 22 million people in southwest Nigeria, Benin, Togo, the UK, Brazil and the USA.
